The program helps its graduates and participants to develop their leadership skills and provides them with the opportunity to prove their competencies by including them in a range of activities that put them under the spotlight and supports them indirectly by highlighting their achievements and leadership abilities.

The program’s objectives are consistent with the government’s vision to sustain a network of Emirati leaders with a positive vision and leadership spirit, capable of making notable achievements locally and internationally.

Yes, the program provides all technical consultations to federal, local and private agencies in relation to the design of programs related to preparing, qualifying and building leadership and capacities.  

It is a pioneering federal program within the UAE government. It seeks to develop competencies from different federal, local government sectors and private sector and provides the opportunity for self or institutional nomination for national cadres and is inclusive of all categories of people of determination.

  • Strategic Leaders Program (for second line leaders in federal ministries and government entities).
  • Executive Leaders Program (for assistant undersecretaries, CEOs, deputy CEOs and department directors in various sectors)
  • Future Leaders Program (for head of sections, team leaders and project managers in various sectors)
  • UAE Youth (for young people aged 21-30 years old, provided they do not hold the position of head of sections and above)

The UAE Government Leadership Program is part of the Government Leadership and Capacity Sector at the Prime Minister’s Office in the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future.

The UAE Government Leaders Program was launched in February 2008 under the directives of H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. 

A federal program designed to prepare, qualify and develop national competencies in the UAE and qualify a group of distinguished leaders capable of keeping pace with the UAE Government’s objectives and achieving the UAE Vision 2021 and the UAE Centennial 2071.

 

The most important news and updates related to the program’s activities and events are posted on the program’s social media channels (Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook), as well as on the program’s e-platform and traditional media channels.  

Registration does not constitute a binding acceptance of nomination in the program. The UAEGLP team shall review all applications on platform and select eligible applicants

To be eligible for registration in all categories, applicants must be UAE nationals, must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognized UAE university. They must fulfill the registration criteria for the relevant categories and attach their own valid identification documents.  

Applying in the UAE Government Leadership Program (UAEGLP) shall be done when nominations are open in any of its categories on the platform.

Candidates shall access the UAEGLP e-platform to obtain a username and password, and then they can create a profile including their personal data.
Yes, the employer shall be notified after receiving approval for enrollment in the program.

It is preferable to seek the approval of your line manager, but it is not a prerequisite for acceptance.

Candidates must meet the nomination criteria for the relevant category to secure acceptance of the nomination application as a first stage.  

  • Self-nomination: Candidates must log into the UAEGLP e-platform, complete the application and attach the required documents.
  • Institutional nomination: A certified official letter is sent from the competent government entity, announcing the nomination of one of its leaders.
